About Billy
Billy’s passion for animals started at a young age. He has had the pleasure of sharing his life with many different breeds of dog, including a golden retriever, a GSD, a lurcher and a pre-rescue dog that was an Alsatian x Rottweiller.
When Billy found her she was under nourished and full of mange. It was through the bond they forged that his understanding and appreciation for canine company began. Billy firmly believes a dog can be a man’s best friend.
Billy now shares his life with Norbert their male Leonberger, who he enjoys successfully showing, and last year (2006) they won best puppy in breed at Richmond Championship Dog Show. Billy is ex-security, and holds a valid S.I.A licence, something only issued to those who have undergone a full and thorough police check. He also holds a certificate in canine first aid.
Although Billy is an experienced owner/handler he is very keen to start his canine psychology levels 1,2 and 3 and eventually qualify as a canine trainer. Courses mentioned are available from the Animal Care College in Ascot, Berkshire.
Billy also now shares his life with Toby, their rescue Lab cross, who Billy is successfully training to be a well-behaved and well-adjusted young fellow.
